SIAN KA'AN BIOSPHERE RESERVE - BOCA PAILA 

BIRDWATCHING BOATING EXPERIENCE IN SMALL GROUP

In this birdwatching tour you will observe more than 80 species of birds in a few differents natural habitats and you will immerse in the outstanding of Sian Ka'an. As this area is submerged in water, vegetation and is connected to the sea waters, many wildlife cohabit in this area and Sian Ka’an is home of many residents and migratory birds that come to feed or to reproduce themselves. 

 

Besides while doing the birding you will go through the tropical forest among the mangroves by boat to Boca Paila where you could  spot some Osprey, Gulls, Terns, Sanderlings, Plovers and more.

Thanks to our passionated guide extremely knowledgeable of the area, he will help you to identify birds visually, audibly, the locations of specific bird habitats that you could miss without his expert eyes.

The afternoon continue while searching for birds through creeks in the mangroves as you learn about the ecology, history, and the importance to keep protecting this impressive reserve.  The sunset is coming and it is time to make a quiet stop in front of a mangrove island where hundreds of birds such as Roseate Spoonbills, White Ibis, Reddish Egrets, Tricolored, Boat-billed, Great Blue Herons and many more are regular guests and come back home o just spend the night.

You end the fantastic birding experience with a fabulous explosion of colors, plumage and birdsong that demonstrating a genuine introduction for nature & wildlife of Sian Kaan.

PROGRAM​

  • Pick up in Tulum 2:30 pm

  • Drive to the visitor´s center of Sian Ka´an for briefing on the biosphere

  • Aboard a private boat to explore the coastal ecosystems and look for wildlife such as crocodiles, manatees and many species of birds

  • Stop for a gourmet picnic on the beach

  • Continue your boat journey towards a spot on the lagoon to watch sunset and hundreds of birds returning to their roosting spot

  • Drop-off time 7.30 pm

  • Pick Up Time :

Please be aware that we will communicate your pick up time via a personalized email and it will vary from the automatic pick up time sent by the booking platform as we have to calculate it manually depending on your hotel/airbnb location.

  • Drop Off Time :

Please be aware that drop off time vary depending on hotel/villas locations and the rythm of each group.

 

  • Cancellation policy :

Each tour should be booked by paying a deposit.

  1. In case of cancellation more than 24 hrs before the pickup, we do not charge you any cost and will give you back your deposit.

  2. In case of cancellation between 24 and 12 hrs before the pickup México Kan Tours will take your deposit in order to pay for the costs already made.

  3. In case of cancellation less than 12 hrs before the pick up or in case of no show we will charge you 50% of the total amount of your tour.

Please be aware that this tour can be cancelled last minute for weather conditions reasons. If we have to cancel, we will offer alternatives or send a full refund.
